This alliance with AMCHAM has been a significant milestone for the growth of Starbucks in Malaysia. The support from the association has allowed us to deliver long-term value for our partners (employees). This includes the provisions of online talks, workshops and platforms to hear and learn from the best in the industry and also from global leading figures. They have also helped highlight current issues with insights for businesses on the COVID-19 pandemic.

In our progressive journey, AMCHAM has always been and continues to be a prominent partner that we rely upon. As the voice of U.S. businesses in Malaysia, AMCHAM provides relevant and current business information, actively serves as a platform to represent members’ interests as well as providing resources, networking opportunities and reliable support for the thriving American business community in Malaysia. We clearly look forward to benefit from AMCHAM in the areas of advocacy and government relations, communications on industry best practices, networking events and programs, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

AMCHAM has demonstrated their leadership so well in fronting the Government on behalf of their members. They are extremely vocal and make it a point to ensure the message is heard. AMCHAM has also acted as a bridge in connecting the company with the American Embassy in Malaysia and this facilitation has certainly benefited the company in various aspects. The MY AMCHAM CARES platform was phenomenal in mobilizing the resources from member companies to be channelled to the right beneficiaries efficiently, ensuring front liners and vulnerable communities received timely support.

Aside from our IT and administrative personnel, it was necessary for our operations staff to work on-premises during the crisis. Palco is a reverse logistics service provider and deemed essential in our support of data and telecom infrastructure for global OEM’s. AMCHAM provided critical information through regular Covid Updates and real time guidance through its dedicated band of champion business advocates. AMCHAM has proven to be an excellent networking resource with introductions to companies sharing mutual interests. We are proud of our commitment to three year Bronze Corporate membership.

We are thankful for the support provided by AMCHAM in this tumultuous period. The Chamber’s close relationships with ministries and government agencies help in providing members with the latest verified updates as well as in ensuring members’ voices are heard by the relevant ministries and taskforce committees. We are also very proud to be part of the MY AMCHAM CARES: COVID-19 Initiatives where relevant aids are channeled directly to hospitals and organizations in need.
